In 2002, I moved to Sioux Center, started working at ATLAS & married Tony Keahi. In 2013, we were blessed with our daughter, Acacia, who is the best gift, we never knew we wanted.  In 2023, ATLAS merged with the Center for Financial Education and we have been blessed to increase efficiencies and holistic services.  In my free time, I enjoy serving my church in various ways, and coaching softball and any other sports that Acacia wants to be involved in.

My husband Alan & I live on an acreage near Sioux Center. We have four great kids: Jacob, Madison, Carsyn, & Camryn.  Together we enjoy raising German Shepherds, camping & spending time with family & friends. I joined the ATLAS staff in 2005 & have found it a true blessing. I am especially passionate about helping people find freedom from the things that keep them from experiencing true joy in their life. I believe that joy can only be found in a relationship with Christ marked with depth & genuine worship. At ATLAS, we are called to walk with others on the journey to discover this joy, & for that, I am blessed that God placed me here. No one is beyond the reach of God's amazing grace, & it's a privilege to experience His ability to transform lives every day.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future...nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39

My name is Brad Vermeer, and I have been married to Glenda for 38 years. We have been blessed with 2 girls and 2 boys who have blessed us with 10 grandchildren. We have taken care of the Sandy Hollow Campground since it started in 1990. We love family, so we spend as much time with our children and their children as we possibly can. I love to help people understand that having more peace inside happens when we give up our agenda, and give in to God's agenda for us.

A part of scripture that means a lot to me is Philippians 4:4-9, "Always be  full of joy in the Lord. Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do"  but I often understand verses better when I read an application. Here is the application for those verses. "Peace and Joy come when we focus on those things that provide lasting value to our life. The more we commit ourselves to knowing God's will through prayer and study of His Word, the better prepared we are to help ourselves and others."

I am blessed to be officially part of the ATLAS family. ATLAS has been an important part in my life and my walk with Christ and also for my family. Now, to have the opportunity to give back in the same way that it was poured into my life is a gift from above.

My husband Nick and I live in Rock Valley. We have three strong-willed and spiritual driven kids - Nestor, Barbie and Jayden. We are a busy family with our kids with various activities. We enjoy cooking, baking all kinds of foods, smoking meat, and spending time with family and friends.

I am all about meeting new people and building relationships, outreach and worship, and passionate about finding freedom and healing through Jesus Christ.

Scripture plays a big part of my life.  Some of the ones I identify with and find comfort in are:

Ezekiel 36:26 - "I have the right DNA. This is whom I have become because of His love and grace for me. God designed us to be whole and complete."

1 John 1:9 - "Move forward with confidence, fully forgiven and free from guilt."

Romans 3:23-24 - "When I sin, I ask for God’s forgiveness, learn from my mistakes, and keep moving forward."

Zephaniah 3:17 - "My God delights over me, He already won my battles. He allows me to dance more and march less in His freedom."

My husband, Dale and I live in Sioux Center and we have been married for 30 years.  We have been blessed with four great kids: Jenna, Kylee, Rayanna, and Braden, as well as Jenna’s husband Christopher and two grandbabies. We are passionate about adoption. Our youngest two children were born in China and joined our family through adoption. I have been on the Katelyn’s Fund Orphan Ministry board from it's beginning in 2005 and serve on the Support Team. God has also stirred our hearts for missions - for His glory to be made known and for every tongue, tribe, and nation to hear the gospel and worship Him.

I am excited about this new role of helping to connect people who are in a difficult place with someone who will listen, pray for, and reach out and give them a hand and point them to Jesus, the great healer and restorer of our lives. We all walk through difficult times in our lives and having someone to walk with us, encourage us, and point us to the One who sees our pain can make all the difference. Praise God for the way He uses us as we walk in obedience and join Him in what He is doing in the lives of others.

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity the anyone who falls and has no one to help them up." Ecclesiastes 4:9

"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’"  Matthew 25:40

Mindy Van Beek

Administrative Assistant

office@atlasofsiouxcenter.org

I’m Mindy Van Beek and I started at ATLAS in September 2022. I have been married to my husband, Lynn, for 28 years in May 2022. We are blessed with 3 boys - Payton (25), Daniel (22), and Cael (16). I really enjoy being a “boy mom” and hanging out with my boys when I can. I enjoy cooking and baking, reading, taking pictures, & organizing. I am a Middle School Youth Group Leader and also serve on the YoungLife/WyldLife Committee for Sioux Center. As a family, we enjoy grilling and having bonfires with S’mores, spending time outside, traveling, golfing, basketball, and just spending time together.

I received my Bachelor’s of Social Work in 1995 and have worked a variety of roles in the Social Work field since then. At ATLAS, I serve as the Office Manager. I also assist with the Car Ministry of ATLAS, Encounter weekends, organizing our fundraisers and Christmas Store, and working with Social Work Interns when the opportunity arises. ATLAS is a place where all are welcome and loved, and my goal is to do just that from the front desk. I hope to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. I also enjoy serving our ATLAS Staff however I can.

One of my favorite verses is 2 Timothy 4:7-8: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

Linda Broek

Receptionist/Prayer Coordinator

I became a member of the ATLAS office in May of 2018. I have been married to Rog for 49 years and we moved to Sioux Center about 1 1/2 years ago after making Ireton our home for over 40 years. We are the parents of 3 married children and grandparents to 9 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. I enjoy reading, walking, biking, water, coffee with friends, and going to watch the grands in their events. I love summer.

Many times as we travel this road of life, we will need a helping hand.... I pray that I may be a part of that as I meet and greet those that come through the doors of ATLAS of Sioux Center.

The words that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stated before the fiery furnace are my comfort in life. "If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O King. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O King, that we will not serve your gods..." Daniel 3:17, 18a.  With God in control, we can experience true joy.

Ron Heemstra

Money Management Consultant - CFE

ron@cfeministries.org

My name is Ron Heemstra and I'm excited to be on staff at Atlas/CFE.  I retired last year (2023) from Interstates after 25 years in the Accounting world.  I became acquainted with CFE as a board member in the early 2000's and served in that role for over 15 years.  I always had in the back of my mind I would like to give back to my community by serving in some manner and God's timing is perfect as the merger with CFE and Atlas happened the very week I retired.  After several promising discussions with Amy, we both felt this was something that would be a good fit for me and CFE.  I love being able to use my gifts to serve others in this way.

I am married to my wife Val and we have 3 grown kids and 5 grandkids.  We love to travel and love the outdoors.  Some of my hobbies include golf, hunting and farming part of the farm I grew up on.

One of my favorite verses comes from 1 Peter 3 verse 15 that says, "...always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have...."  My hope is in Jesus Christ!!

Carla Vande Zandschulp

I am excited to join the Center for Financial Education/ATLAS staff after retiring from my previous work in sales, bookkeeping, managing Melissa's Hope Chest, and working as a paraprofessional.  Working part-time as a Money Management Consultant is the perfect opportunity to see God at work at this time in my life!  My husband, Jeris, and I have 3 daughters, Candice, Nikki, and Jessica, plus 3 awesome son-in-laws and 7 beautiful grandchildren.
